Your routine

You can combine the techniques and products to find the routine that works best for you. Keep your hair type in mind. You'll find this information on these pages to help you discover what you need.

Start with a basic routine and experiment to see what works for you. Make sure you're using the right products. Use the following as a starting point:

  • Wash with shampoo 2 or 3 times a week.
  • Condition your hair 2 or 3 times a week. If your hair is damaged, deep-condition it once a week.
  • Add gel when wet, squeeze out when dry (Scrunch Out The Crunch, SOTC)
  • Choose your drying method; see the technique or basic routine page for more information.
  • Styling and conditioning. Style and condition your hair whenever you want or need to, for example, in the morning before you leave the house. This can be done simply with a little water, but if it needs more conditioning, such as repair or hydration, or simply more volume, use products like mousse or leave-in conditioner. See also the product page.

Adjust your schedule, products, and techniques to meet your needs. It's a matter of trial and error.
