Points of attention

Your hair type

Thin, light hair

If you have thin, light hair, use light-colored hair products. Heavy products will weigh your hair down, make it fall, and won't retain volume. You can filter by light-colored products in the webshop.

Porous hair

If your hair dries very quickly after being wet, you have highly porous hair. This means it needs extra care, nourishment, and repair.

  • Basic care is important, avoiding harmful substances as described on this page. Maintain a nutritious routine.
  • Provide extra proteins in your hair; there are special products available for this, such as conditioner and hair mask.
  • In addition, it is important to hydrate and care for your hair well, start by incorporating a weekly deep conditioner into your routine.
  • It is important to avoid heat to prevent further damage.
  • You can add the LOC technique to your routine; see the technique page. This will provide extra hydration, nourishment, and protection for your hair.

Damaged hair

Harmful substances

Avoid silicones, drying alcohols and sulfates:

  • Silicones pollute the hair and are unnecessary. This makes your hair feel dirty and harder to wash.
  • Drying alcohols dry out your hair, strip away the definition of your curls and cause frizz.
  • The sulfates also dry out your hair and cause frizz.

Avoid heat

Avoid heat on your hair. Don't use straighteners or curling irons. Use only a diffuser attachment on your hairdryer.

Risks of improper care

Brushing

Brushing damages your hair and causes frizz. This causes you to lose curl definition. Only comb through wet hair with conditioner using a wide-toothed comb or your fingers.

To wash

Washing your curly wavy hair too often dries it out. You can also over-feed your hair, which isn't healthy either. Your washing schedule is a matter of trial and error and depends on your hair and lifestyle. On average, aim for 2-3 times a week.
